What Is GEAR UP?
GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs)
It is a seven-year federal initiative designed to increase early college awareness, readiness, and success for low-income students. The grant follows a cohort of students starting in 7th grade through their first year of postsecondary education.
What Are The Goals For SM GEAR UP?
By August 2031, 100% of the GEAR UP cohort will be:

Enrolled and attending College,

Earning a certification for a high-wage career,

Enlisted in the US Military
